Marketing Director, Headline

Are you looking for a new challenge in a rewarding role leading an award-winning marketing team?

Headline is seeking a Marketing Director to lead its creative and successful marketing team.

Who we are and what we do

Headline was founded in 1986 with a single promise at its heart: to publish the books people want to read. Sometimes, the simplest ideas are best.

Headline has spent over three decades creating books people want to read and our passion for the commercial means we are home to some of the UK’s biggest-selling authors and continue to invest in new talent with bestseller potential. Among those authors are Martina Cole, Victoria Hislop, Neil Gaiman, Maggie O’Farrell, Bryony Gordon and a roster of comedians, chefs and media personalities including Raymond Blanc, Nadiya Hussein and James Acaster.

 What you will be doing

You will be managing a team of award-winning marketeers and devising your own top-notch campaigns. You will become part of the Headline management team and will therefore work closely with colleagues across Editorial, Marketing and Sales to devise and implement innovative strategies to bring our books to the widest possible readership.

What we are looking for

This is an opportunity for someone ideally with experience in managing a team, as well as having a string of successfully orchestrated marketing campaigns to their name. We are looking for a marketeer ready to take the next step in their career but who already has an impeccable history of campaigns across both fiction and non-fiction trade publishing.

Reporting to the Communications Director, the Marketing Director will have responsibility for the marketing budget, and a number of direct reports.

What we offer

This role is based in our London office, as part of an experienced team in a creative and dynamic working environment, and offers a competitive salary, bonus potential and benefits package.

Our Commitment

Hachette employs people on the basis of their abilities. We aim to attract and develop talent from a base as broad as the world of readers we want to reach, with a wide and representative range of age, faith, disability, race, gender, sexuality and socio-economic, regional and cultural backgrounds.

To apply, send your full CV and a covering letter to: recruitment@hachette.co.uk. Alternatively, hard copies can be sent to: HR Department, Carmelite House, 50 Victoria Embankment, London, EC4Y 0DZ.

Closing Date: 13th October

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to get in touch directly with shortlisted candidates. If you are shortlisted and need us to make any adjustments to help you attend for interview, please do let us know.
