Cover Reveal: Moon's Artifice

We’re delighted to reveal an exciting new cover look for one of the most assured and exciting books to hit fantasy in the last couple of years – Moon’s Artifice, by Tom Lloyd.

Moon’s Artifice is a bit of a departure for Tom as, although it’s his 7th book, it’s the first in almost ten years not to be part of the TWILIGHT REIGN series. As the many fans of Stormcaller and its sequels will attest, Tom is one of the most inventive and readable writers of fantasy around. If you’ve been waiting to try him out, now’s your chance.

This brilliant new cover look, by Krzysztof Domaradzki, will feature on the mass market paperback of the book, due out in October. And we hope to work together on Tom’s next book, Old Man’s Ghosts, as well!

About Moon’s Artifice:

In a quiet corner of the Imperial City, Investigator Narin discovers the result of his first potentially lethal mistake. Minutes later he makes a second. After an unremarkable career Narin finally has the chance of promotion to the hallowed ranks of the Lawbringers – guardians of the Emperor’s laws and bastions for justice in a world of brutal expediency. Joining that honoured body would be the culmination of a lifelong dream, but it couldn’t possibly have come at a wrong time. Demon-spirts now haunt the shadows and Gods watch from the sky, while Narin and a handful of uncertain friends begin to uncover a horrifying conspiracy.

On the cusp of an industrial age that threatens the warrior caste’s rule, the Empire of a Hundred Houses awaits civil war between noble factions. Centuries of conquest has made the empire a brittle and bloated monster; constrained by tradition and crying out for change. To save his own life and those of untold thousands Narin must understand the key to it all – Moon’s Artifice, the poison that could destroy an empire.
